BLACK ROOM DIVIDER
Room dividers can be traced back to the Chinese Eastern Zhou period p(771–256 BCE), featuring exquisite scenes of mythology and nature. The Japanese began to use lighter portable folding screens for tea ceremonies and in Vietnam the screens were decorated in a technique called khảm xà cừ. During the 17th and 18th Century they were imported to Europe and thus began a love affair with the screen. Coco Chanel reportedly owned 32 Chinese folding screens in a private collection. These RED EDITION screens are created from solid wooden frame whilst the opulent brass touches echoe their ornate and rich history.
