Monique Dining Chair is a charming wicker chair in handmade Danish design and part of Sika-Design’s Affäire collection. Our Affäire collection represents a unique selection of charming bistro and café furniture, inspired by Sika-Design’s own designs from the 1950s and the charming café chairs seen everywhere in Paris.

The chair is handmade in sustainable Indonesian rattan by skilled wicker makers. We weave our Affäire furniture with the fantastic ArtFibre, which is available in a larger selection of colours that can be put together in countless combinations. ArtFibers are artificial fibers made from maintenance-free polyethylene that can withstand the sun’s UV radiation. The combination of rattan and ArtFibre gives the wicker furniture a unique strength, flexibility and comfort. Sika-Design uses carefully selected rattan for furniture production to ensure the highest quality. Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo which is hollow, rattan is a solid material. Rattan is a remarkably strong and indestructible material, and therefore you get a unique piece of furniture that lasts for generations.
